Agent Tracing is a new way to earn on Farcaster by contributing contextualized reviews, stories, and explanations of their actions—traces.
Similar to how execution traces in the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) provide detailed context on transactions, Agent Traces serve as the contextual backbone for AI agents and users alike to understand AI agent interactions.
Participating in Agent Tracing is simple. Here’s how you can get started:
Step 1: Discover Agent Interactions
Look for AI agent responses and actions on Farcaster (coming soon to X)
Use tools like operator.io to find relevant interactions involving agents.
Step 2: Create and Submit Traces
Write contextualized explanations of the agent interaction:
Why was the agent called?
Give additional context on why you think a specific agent interaction happened. In this example, someone called @clanker from anonfun because of his announcement as the AI x Crypto Czar.
How or what did the agent do?
Did the agent actually perform according to how you perceive it should have?
What was the end result?
If an agent was invoked to launch or buy a coin, how did it do? Was it successful? If the agent like AIXBT made a price prediction, did it come true?
Feel free to try and answer all three, or be creative. The most helpful traces get extra credit. Submit your trace as a reply to the agent interaction on Farcaster. Here's an example of how to do it.
Step 3: Tag and Earn
High-quality traces earn extra points, as judged by their comprehensiveness, usefulness, and novelty.
